They have played warm up slots for the likes of Paul Weller and Simply Red, hosted rooms at events like the Metropolitan Soul Allnighters and guested at events like the recent Vintage @ Goodwood Festival.

At any Hipshaker event you can expect to hear a dancefloor friendly mix of funk, soul, jazz, rock, r&b, motown, latin, ska, reggae and more …… plenty of classics, a few lesser knowns all and all on chunky vinyl!

They also released a compilation album on Goldmine/Soul Supply in 2001.

Through going on the scooter rally’s of the early 80s , and spending many nights slip sliding to the sounds of vintage northern soul he has subsequently started his own mod and northern soul night with his wife Imelda , THE BEAT CLUB @ Cord Bar Manchester running a successful monthly sunday for the past two years , this is done for the sheer love of the music and to try and turn on the next generation of movers and shakers .

Steve Is Another In a Long Line Of British Guitar Greats, You Are Guaranteed To Get Beautifully Crafted Songs And Great Melodies. He Deserves The Praise Which This Record Should Bring. – Mani – Primal Scream

“These are great songs of Humanity, family values, and family love. It’s about being inspired by life and love.” – Paul Weller

“Steve has a heart as big as a planet and on this album………..he proves it once and for all, its a truly wonderful record, I’m glad I have it in my life” – Richard Hawley ‘It’s a modern day ‘George Harrison –‘All Things Must Pass’’ – Liam Gallagher

Early 2009 will see Steve Cradock one of the most talented guitarists to come out of Britpop, release his debut solo album ‘The Kundalini Taget’ featuring Paul Weller and Sally Cradock. The founding member of the million selling Ocean Colour scene has grafted 10 beautiful laments about love, life, loss and the union of marriage. Tracks such as ‘Running Away’, ‘Beware of Falling rocks’ and ‘Ask the sound’ showcase what a talent he is, exposing the vunerability and innocence of young love.

It’s been a long time coming, for a man who is held in high esteem by his peers and fans, ‘he’s a magical person, so positive and optimistic’ noted Paul Weller, in the Independent earlier this year. Cradock and Weller’s union as musicians commenced in 1992 when Steve joined Wellers band and has remained a permanent fixture since, collaborating and performing on the recent critically acclaimed number 1 album ’22 Dreams’, also this year completing the ‘Paul weller and Steve Cradock – Acoustic Tour’, which included a headline slot at the Royal Albert Hall for Roger Daltrey’s Teenage Cancer Trust where they were supported by Duffy.

Born in Solihull, Birmingham, Steve has always cherished classic soul, R & B and Reggae, sharing a mutual love of The Kinks, The Small Faces and The Who with Weller and good friend Liam Gallagher, with whom he released a cover of the Jam’s classic track ‘Carnation’ in celebration of The Jam Cover album ‘Fire & Skill’. Cradock also performed on a cover of The Beatles ‘Come Together’ as part of the Smokin Mojo Filters band with Paul McCartney and Noel Gallagher.

Steve has also worked with Amy Macdonald, the million selling Scottish starlet, performing on the track ‘Run’, on top of releasing this solo record Steve remains on the road with OCS and Paul Weller, as well as producing Paul’s son Natty Weller’s debut album. Having penned some of the 90′s definitive hits such as The Riverboat Song, The Day We Caught The Train and Hundred Mile High City which have become engrained into British Culture as the theme tune to the Chris Evans fronted TFI Friday and signature song in Guy Ritches ‘Lock Sock & Two Smoking Barrels’, Steve finally deserves to be seen as a great British songsmith and heralded as a true musical talent.

Dean first DJed at nights organised by himself in London, before playing alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson, Ed Piller, James Lavelle, The Young Disciples and others on the early acid jazz club scene, graduating to becoming Friday night resident at London’s legendary Blue Note club, which was voted ‘Club Of The Millennium’ by Time Out magazine in 2000. Since then he has been a resident at Blow Up and DJed at nights around the world, most regularly in Sweden, Italy and Germany as well as all over the UK.
